Teshome Gemechu - Lot 6 Gedeb, Ethiopia
Teshome Gemechu is the name of the washing station near the Hambela zone in the region of Guji, in southern Ethiopia. The local land is worked by subsistence farmers and their families with an average land size of 2 hectares in which they grow up to 2500 coffee plant per hectare. In and among the coffee the farmers grown many crops to sustain life - a living. Their crops are grown in rich, red-brown earth where they harvest a local heirlooms Dega & Wolisho between October and Dec. Teshome Gemechu has an annual production of up to 1200 bags. Teshome Gemechu washing station is supported by SNAP.
SNAP Coffee are licensed exporters, based in Addis Ababa. Headed by coffee passionate entrepreneur, Negusse, the company runs, or works in partnership, with three coffee washing and processing stations.
