Teshome Gemechu is the name of the washing station near the Hambela zone in the region of Guji, in southern Ethiopia. The local land is worked by subsistence farmers and their families with an average land size of 2 hectares in which they grow up to 2500 coffee plant per hectare. In and among the coffee the farmers grown many crops to sustain life - a living. Their crops are grown in rich, red-brown earth where they harvest a local heirloom coffee #74110 between October and Dec. Teshome Gemechu has an annual production of up to 1200 bags.
